Comments
When visitors leave comments on our website, we collect the information provided in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist with spam detection. An anonymized hash (a coded version) of your email address may be shared with the Gravatar service to verify whether you are using it. You can review the Gravatar service’s privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture (if associated with Gravatar) will be visible to the public alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, please avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website may be able to download and extract location data from images published on the site.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our website, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies are provided for your convenience so that you do not need to re-enter your details when leaving another comment. These cookies will remain active for one year.
If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie will be set to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
When you log in, several cookies will be created to store your login information and display preferences. Login cookies remain active for two days, while screen options cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login session will persist for two weeks.
Upon logging out, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not contain personal data and simply records the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this website may include embedded content (such as videos, images, or articles). Embedded content from other websites functions in the same way as if the visitor had visited those external websites directly.
These external websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with their embedded content. This may include tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that external website.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its associated metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments rather than holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website (if applicable), we store the personal information provided in their user profiles. All registered users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except for their username, which cannot be changed. Website administrators also have access to view and edit this information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this website or have left comments, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any information you have provided to us. You may also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are required to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be processed through an automated spam detection service to help prevent unwanted or harmful content.
